Illinois grandparents die in airplane crash en path to have fun Thanksgiving with household


Household and mates in a small Illinois city are mourning the lack of two grandparents who perished in a airplane crash whereas traveling for Thanksgiving.

Joseph and Patty Kreher, of Freeburg, Illinois, died Saturday when their small, twin-engine Piper PA-30 plane crashed in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, at round 11:15 a.m. The couple had taken off from the St. Louis Downtown Airport in Cahokia, made a cease in London, Kentucky, after which crashed close to an airport in Winston-Salem, KSDK-TV reported.

Authorities with the Nationwide Security Transportation Board are investigating the reason for the crash. Air Security Investigator Pete Wentz informed the native information station the pilot had communicated to the airport radio tower that there was an issue earlier than the airplane went down.

“The pilot communicated saying he wanted to circle the airport for a second try and throughout the circling maneuver, the airplane misplaced management and impacted the bottom,” Wetnz stated.

Whereas the investigation is ongoing, the city of Freeburg is mourning the lack of their neighbors. 

“It is simply going to be onerous for everybody that knew Joe and Patty,” Freeburg Mayor Seth Speiser informed KSDK.

The couple was well-known and appreciated among the many city of 4,500. 

“I knew Joe and Patty, that they had a machine store off of 159, very well-liked folks within the space,” Speiser stated.
